The Process

1.You will be assigned to a legal team of 3-4 people. Your first task will be to read the fairytales and choose which villain your law firm wishes to represent. Click the links below to read the fairytales.

2. Now you have chosen a fairytale and identified a villain that requires your legal assistance. It’s important to see the points of view of both parties in a court case. Complete the online Venn Diagram with facts to support how the points of view of the villain and the main character who is the alleged victim of the crime. When the online organizer is complete then print it.

3. You will reconstruct the fairytale from the point of view of the villain. Your first task is to complete a story map that includes details to support your client’s case. Print the story map when your team feels that enough evidence has been gathered to support the villain’s point of view.

4.You will rewrite the fairytale from the point of view of the villain. Try to make the villain sound as innocent as possible. You will point out any actions of the other characters or events that may have caused the villain to act as they did. Type the story in Microsoft Word.

5.You will present the fairy tale from the villain’s point of view to the jury which is your fellow classmates.

  Legal Team Roles:
1. The Recorder-Will write the information that the team feels is important in the graphic organizers. Writes the story from the villain’s point of view with the assistance of all of the other team members.
2. The Investigator- Looks for facts, clues and details in the story to support the case. The fact finder edits the team paper for grammar, punctuation and spelling errors.
3. The Lawyer- Presents the defendant’s case to the jury in a convincing manner. Reads the fairytales aloud to the group. Keeps the group on task.
